Working with the English Folk Dance and Song Society, Alice studied the eighteenth-century tunebooks in their collection.

John Malchair's Tunebooks

Alice's doctoral project, on eighteenth-century manuscript music collections and their collectors. John Malchair (1730-1812) lived in Oxford from 1760, and collected four volumes of 'national music'.

Research on three instruments at the Pitt Rivers Museum: a mandolin played during WWI, a Whit-horn, and a whittle and dub.

As Assistant Curator of Musical Instruments at the Horniman Museum, Alice contributed to the documentation of the Neil Wayne Collection.

Alice curated a temporary exhibition on the history of morris dancing at the Bate Collection of Musical Instruments.
